Flat nappies are normally a large piece of fabric, usually square or rectangular, made from natural fibers like cotton, bamboo, or hemp. They are simple, versatile, and affordable cloth nappies that you fold and fasten around the baby using pins, snaps, or wraps.

Prefold nappies are similar to flat nappies however they are made with multiple layers of absorbent material, usually cotton or bamboo, sewn together. They are often thicker in the middle for extra absorbency and thinner on the sides.
